Empowering Tomorrow’s Potential, Today.
Unlocking the whole child’s potential through every phase of
their educational journey.
Through strengthened teaching, learning and school management, child focused interventions and tangible study and work opportunities.
Making their wildest dreams a reality.
From Humble Foundations to
Future Leaders
Mkhulise (“Raise The Child”) is a collaborative Beier Group Foundation initiative, inspired by the late Hans Beier, that supports learners from early childhood through to young adulthood by strengthening each step their education journey.
With the support of the KZN Department of Education the programme brings together ECD centres, Primary and Secondary Schools, tertiary institutions, NGOs, business leaders, and government partners.
Our shared aim is to ensure that children are supported, confident, and equipped to succeed in the new world of work.
We began in 2023 by strengthening school leadership. In 2024, we expanded support to teaching and learning in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Schools. In 2026 we intend to grow into building
post-school pathways.

"For young people to dream beyond their immediate horizons and to view their horizons as attainable realities."
— Hans Beier, Former Chair, Beier Group
Growing Possibilities Together
At Mkhulise we believe that every child deserves more than just a seat in a classroom – they deserve a conducive environment where they can learn, explore and expand.
Our work is rooted in two powerful ideas:
-
We seek to cultivate innovative critical thinkers with strong foundations in Maths, language and technology
-
When we grow the people who support the learners we grow the learners themselves

KwaDabeka in KwaZulu-Natal is a high density, mixed urban settlement with high levels of poverty and unemployment. Mkhulise’s seven ECDs, six Primary and three Secondary Schools are all located within it's 12 square km radius.

We reach...
254
teachers
48
school management team members
475
ECD children
8500+
learners across the education value chain

Gratefully Making it All Possible
The Mkhulise programme is generously supported by the Beier Group of companies, the Get It Done Foundation and the Victor Daitz Foundations. The programme works very closely with the Pinetown District of the Department of Education.
