The Building Blocks –
School Leadership

The School Leadership and Management sub-programme has been the backbone of the Mkhulise programme since inception in 2023. 

 

This initiative equips principals, deputy principals, Head of Departments, and School Governing Body members to lead and manage their schools in a manner which fosters teaching and learning excellence.

Over 50 leaders across 9 schools have participated in teambuilding, structured workshops and onsite coaching over the past 24 months.

Results

 

  • 2 of the 3 secondary schools have consistently improved their NSC results from 2022 to 2024 reaching 86,5% and 97,5 % respectively;

 

  • Both these schools achieved an average NSC pass rate for Maths Literacy and Science of over 80%;

 

  • The number of Bachelor passes has improved to an average of 44% over the past two years.
